We last wrote ‘the times are a changin’, and this past weekend the theme continued with some pleasantly pre-owned discoveries. The sun was shining, and we had a little free time, so we took to the local shops to see what we could find. We were more than excited to report that antiques are alive and well in Winnipeg. More than once we had to empty our full hands and try and decide which pieces we really felt strongly about. We allowed ourselves two items each, and the winners were a pair of Japanese Auer lighters, and a pair of handsomely illustrated children’s books from Nelson Doubleday, Inc. We can’t seem to trace the illustrator for either the lighter or the book’s cover, but we’re appreciative of both, and they’ll make nice cozy additions to our already collection-friendly home.
