Winter Through My Eyes

Plain and simple — IT’S FLIPPING COLD OUTSIDE!!! We are currently experiencing some of the coldest weather the province has seen in over 100 years. I’m talking -40 with the windchill, hands freezing in minutes, stay inside and don’t come out until April type of weather. I find myself dreaming of warm places and imagining the feeling of grass beneath my toes, oh how glorious that would be! But alas, we’re stuck here in Winterpeg with no sign of spring in sight, so it’s best to make the most of what you’ve got. I’m trying my best to see the beauty and fun these chilly days have to offer. I remind myself that not everyone gets to experience the quiet that we do. They don’t get to see the skies in all their awesomeness filled with puffy winter clouds, and they don’t get to see all of the amazing blue shadows and light that are cast upon the snow on the coldest of cold days. I’ve got a love/hate (mostly hate) relationship with Winter. Here’s how I’ve seen it so far this year. – Jessie
